Blueberry Weekend

The Smith family went to the lake this weekend. While we were there-we went on our annual family outing to the blueberry farm to pick all that we could. Armed with buckets, lots of mosquito repellant, and a dream in our hearts of blueberry cobbler and pancakes-we were off in the bed of Tommy's pick up truck out to the muddy blueberry fields. The weather was perfect and the blueberries were thick. We spread out and each took a row. After eating more than a few and one trying to beat the other to see who could pick the most at the end of our visit we had picked over three gallons total!

We went back to the lake house, sorted and bagged the berries for freezing. Then Nana and Kate whipped up a batch of blueberry cobbler and then homemade vanilla ice cream to go along-what a great summer tradition!

Yum! Me too! Now, do you have a blackberry patch you visit also, because that is our family's fave?
